Driver Distraction and Cell Phone Use: Establishing Liability in Motor Vehicle Collisions and Taking our Medicine

For any victim of a personal injury sustained in a motor vehicle collision, it is crucial to establish the “cause” of the collision in order to establish liability against a driver. In all cases, the personal injury lawyer will seek to establish liability by proving that the defendant driver was inattentive or distracted while driving and was therefore negligent. 1104 Unless negligence is established, there will be no liability found by a Court.

One of the most common causes of motor vehicle collisions is driver inattention and driver distraction. In many cases, when a collision occurs, the responsible driver was momentarily distracted by a wide variety of causes – ranging from talking to passengers, adjusting a radio or air conditioning/heating, sipping their coffee, eating, lighting a cigarette, etc.

With the advent of new technology, the use of cell phones and other electronic devices like blackberries while driving have become a serious traffic safety issue. The danger with using such devices is that the distraction causes a delay in the response time of drivers to critical events on the road, and individuals talking on cell phones have been found to be 18% slower in applying their brakes to avoid collisions.

While there are very few reported decisions in our Courts commenting on or finding negligence as a result of cell phone use by drivers involved in motor vehicle collisions, the dangers created by cell phone use while driving are aptly demonstrated in the decision in Weston v. Regan [2006] A.J. No. 1049 (Alberta Court of Queen's Bench). In that case, the Plaintiff driver was travelling at 130 kilometres per hour on cruise control and was attempting to locate his cell phone that he had dropped when he failed to observe a vehicle ahead and collided with it. The Plaintiff was found 50% at fault, despite the other driver having the duty to yield the right of way. Proof of cell phone use contributing to a collision is difficult, but evidence (or an admission) that a driver was engaged in a conversation at the time of a collision can assist in establishing liability against such a driver.

A recent report on Driver Distraction (by Douglas J. Beirness, Herb M. Simpson, Anita Pak, entitled “The Road Safety Monitor, Driver Distraction” - The Traffic Injury Research Foundation: Ottawa, March 2002) revealed the following:

1 in 5 drivers regularly use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle;

The risk of a collision is between 3 - 6.5 times higher when a cell phone is being used and there is a 38 percent higher risk if a cell phone is used while driving (compared to those not using cell phones while driving);

the risk of a collision increases the more often you use a cell phone;

Men are considerably more likely than women to use cell phones while driving, and tend to use it for longer periods of time;

Drivers aged 25 to 29 are most likely to use cell phones while driving, and one third of drivers in this age range report doing so;

Drivers who use cell phones tend to be male, younger, live in urban areas, work in jobs that require driving, have higher educational status, drive more, drink more, and are more likely to drive after drinking and to have received a traffic ticket. These are all considered characteristic of high-risk drivers.

The problem of cell phone use and its contribution to motor vehicle collision causation has become widely recognized in the past few years. A number of countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and much of Europe have also banned using cell phones while driving. Newfoundland and Labrador passed legislation in 2003 banning the use of cell phones, and under Section 176.1 of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.N.L. 1990, H-3, it is an offence for drivers to use hand-held cell phones. The use of hands-free cell phones is still permitted in that Province.

Doctors Nova Scotia have stated that they are in favour of lobbying the Nova Scotia Government to introduce legislation to ban all cell phone use while driving. The requested ban would apply to both hand-held and headset types of cell phones. The President of Doctors Nova Scotia, Dr. Don Pugsley, has pointed out that the issue is one of distraction and losing focus whilst driving as a result of cell phone use, and not just having one hand occupied by a phone.

Calls to ban cell phone use while driving has generated controversy, with opponents arguing that such proposed laws interfere with individual rights and the Government or groups like Doc5a5tors Nova Scotia have no right to prohibit cell phone use. The arguments are similar to those that arose when mandatory seat belt or helmet use was first considered and introduced. It can be suggested that requiring individuals who wish to place or receive a call on a cell phone, to simply pull over to the side of the road for the duration of the call is not an unreasonable infringement on human liberty, if it avoids a preventable injury or death.

Step For Getting Cellphone Contract

Cell phones (telefone celular) are increasingly used in the modern world. They are no longer a luxury, but are considered a need. They can send and receive e-mail, get information on news, entertainment, make a call home while traveling and contact the police or the ambulance during an emergency.

The radio, telephone and computer technology fused together to make the cell phone technology. Nevertheless, with the advancing technology, marketing became much tougher, and cell phone operators devised numerous clauses in their contracts to ensure that their competitors do not erode their customer base. Thus the cell phone contract was born.

A cell phone (telefone celular) contract is an agreement between the buyer and the wireless cell phone service provider. Usually it is of 1 or 2 years of duration, during which a consumer is legally bound to remain with the wireless service provider. Certain operators give a trial period to their consumers. After the trial period of 14 or 30 days is over, when the contract is entered upon and the phone is bought, the penalty for breaking the contract can range from $150 to $600, depending on where the phone was bought.

Before the contract finishes, if a new phone is to be bought, then some companies give a customer loyalty discount, which in effect extends the contract. This may prove to be expensive when compared to buying a new phone with a good discount. Thus, you may be locked in to a single operator, without your knowing it, if you do not read and understand the terms of the cell phone contract.

If one is not satisfied with the service provided by the cell phone (telefone celular) service provider, then one can come out of the contract, without paying a termination fee, if someone else is willing to go through the contract for the remaining period. Finding someone willing to undertake this may be difficult. Numerous websites have come up which help you in finding someone to transfer your contract to, however cell phone service providers do not endorse such websites as they only connect the buyer and the seller, doing nothing with the actual transfer.

Thus once you find a buyer for your cell phone contract, you have to contact your cell phone service provider to complete the transfer. This may take quite some time, as your provider will do a credit check on the buyer and if the creditworthiness is not found sufficient for the contract, the transfer will not take place. In case the transfer does take place, then you have the option of keeping the same number that you originally had. Usually, it has been seen that with transfers, you may have to supply the cell phone also as a free incentive to the buyer. High-end cell phones offered free along with the transfer usually get buyers within a couple of days.

Cell phone (telefone celular) service providers generally give a trial period before enforcing the contract term, which may be of 1-year or 2-year duration. Almost all providers give at least 14 to 30 days of trail period. A 1-year cell phone contract has a shorter commitment period, which may prove to be beneficial if the phone needs repairs, or is lost.

In addition, since the period is short, one may avail of new discounts that come up. After the term of 1-year ends, the phone can be kept without any contract and no penalty is charged for quitting. However, in a 1-year contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be cheap. Certain discounts and promotional offers cannot be availed of as in a 2-year period.

In a 2-year cell phone (telefone celular) contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be expensive. Huge discounts on the phone may be availed. Special promotions may be availed. However, since the phone is kept for a longer duration, more money may be spent on repairing, insuring, or replacing. The opportunity to buy a new phone reduces, and thus may not be eligible to switch cell phone service providers. Expensive phones may also opt for phone replacement insurance plans. However, due to the costs of such plans, few subscribe to these plans.

Pre-Paid or No Contract cell phones (telefone celular) are not available with all cell phone service providers. They are attractive as they require no commitment, the credit history is unimportant, and there is no penalty for quitting. However, call charges may be more expensive, and no promotional discounts etc., may be availed of.

It is always advisable to read and fully understand the terms of the cell phone provider as stated in the contract form, including the fine print, before signing the cell phone (telefone celular) contract.

What Do You Thing About Traveler's Cell Phone Etiquette

Many traveling cell phone users fail to remember to use proper cell phone etiquette while away from home. Cell phones have made it possible for people to stay in touch no matter where they happen to be in the world. While this has great advantages for cell phone users it can also be a means of irritating and annoying fellow travelers and locals. Failing to use proper cell phone etiquette may risk disclosing confidential information as well which can leave you victim to criminals.

Remember to always maintain a privacy range when using your cell phone. Step away from others so that you can have some privacy. Additionally, when someone near you answers their cell phone give them the same courtesy you would expect for yourself. Space yourself from other cell phone users during their conversations.

Keep your conversations non descriptive in means of personal matters including finance and don’t discuss matters of personal distress in public areas. You never know who is listening and a complaint of being lost or not knowing where to spend your money may alert criminals to your vulnerable situations.

Let the person you are speaking on the cell phone with know that you are on a cell phone and why the conversation must be kept at a minimal of disclosure. Better than talking at times may be to text message personal and confidential topics.

When in crowded areas always use your vibration mode as to not annoy others. What you may consider a cool ringtone might offend other people. Try being noise considerate.

Speaking of noise, try not to talk too loudly into your phone. A shouting cell phone user has got to be the number one annoyance in public. Remember if someone asks you to quiet it down, instead of arguing it is best to just wrap it up and talk later.

Getting Prepaid x Standard Cell Phone Services

A decade ago perhaps the options weren`t very many, but as time went by and with the advancement of high technology, cell phones became increasingly available for just about everyone, and most of us questioned which will be the best suitable service option when choosing a cell phone. Today there are two basic options: the prepaid cell phone service, which allows you to control more closely how much you can or want to spend in a particular month, and the standard cell phone service, which usually charges you a monthly bill. Both services seem to offer very good deals depending upon each person needs.

The prepaid service is meant primarily for users who want to keep a closer control of the amount of expenses in phone calls. After the phone credits are gone, one has the option to buy some more or not, keeping his expenses within a limit. This kind of service became very popular and it seems to keep growing every day worldwide. In developing countries, where cell phone tariff is expensive, prepaid services made possible to just about everyone to make use of cell phones.

Another advantage of this service is the fact that in case of a phone loss, one doesn`t have to worry much about phone calls made by third parties, because the cell phone has usually a small amount of credits inserted in. Once the stolen-lost cell phone is reported to the service provider, the phone chip will be canceled and no more hassle to worry about, except for the loss of the handset.

The standard cell phone service seems to be meant for the more active users who regularly dial phone calls or don`t care to go through the hassle of buying cell phone credits often. Although this service usually has a less expensive tariff than the prepaid service, users tend to make more use of it and because of that they end up spending more money with phone services.

One does really have to consider the options available and find out which is the most suitable for his personal use. The option for prepaid service seems to be more adequate for the less amount of usage the average people usually do. Those who prefer the prepaid service, do so because it is more attractive to their needs and they don`t have to worry about paying more for an extra service that it is not going to be used anyway.

For those who can`t afford a more expensive model or simply don`t want to spend any extra money for a cell phone, the prepaid service then becomes the ideal choice. However for those who need to keep updated this latest high-tech cell phone features and making phone calls is part of his personal or professional life, then the standard monthly paid service will seem more appropriate.

Cell Phone Contracts Ins and Outs

A cell phone contract is an agreement between the buyer and the wireless service provider. Usually it is of 1 or 2 years of duration, during which a consumer is legally bound to remain with the wireless service provider. A pre-paid contract does not need a contract term but then discounts are also not offered. Cell phone contracts specify the service plan that the consumer has opted in for.

The Top Names In Cell Phone Contracts

Cingular and T-Mobile plans let the subscriber roam the world with the same phone for a fee. National plans give the facility of roaming within the nation, from state to state without any extra charges. Some carriers also include Canada in their coverage areas besides the local area. Regional plans are valid only for tri-state areas and they give more talk time and save money. How to Simplify Billing for Your Household Family plans allow splitting minutes between two or more lines thereby becoming a popular plan in households, where cell phones are replacing landlines.

Cell Phone Trials And Discounts

Carriers generally give a trial period before enforcing the contract term. Almost all carriers give at least 14 days whereas Cingular gives 30 days of trial period. A 1-year cell phone contract has a shorter commitment period, which may prove to be beneficial if the phone needs repairs, or is lost. In addition, since the period is short, one may avail of new discounts that come up with their new contract. After the term of 1-year ends, the phone can be kept without any contract and no penalty is charged for not renewing. However, in a 1-year contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be cheap. Certain discounts and promotional offers cannot be availed of as in a 2-year period.

Watch For Activation Fees In Cell Phone Contracts

In a 2-year cell phone contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be expensive. Huge discounts on the phone may be availed. Special promotions may be availed. However, the phone is kept for a longer duration and hence, more money may be spent on repairing, insuring, or replacing. The opportunity to buy a new phone reduces, and thus may not be eligible to switch carriers. It is always advisable to read the fine print on the contract form. Expensive phones may also opt for phone replacement insurance plans; however, due to the costs of such plans, few subscribe to these plans.

Pre Paid Gets Rid Of Cell Phone Contracts

Pre-Paid or No Contract phones are not available with all cell phone companies. They are attractive as they require no commitment, you can get them even if you have bad credit, and there is no penalty whatsoever for switching companies or stopping the use of your cell phone. However, call charges may be more expensive, and no promotional discounts etc., may be availed of.

Penalties Included In Cell Phone Contracts

After the trial period of 14 or 30 days is over, when the phone is bought, the penalty for breaking the contract can range from $150 to $600, depending on where the phone was bought. Before the contract finishes, if a new phone is to be bought, then some companies give a customer loyalty discount, which in effect extends the contract. This may prove to be expensive when compared to buying a new phone with a good discount. Cell phones generally last for 19 months and phone batteries for a year.

Keep Update For Cell Phone Features

It's not a 21st century gadget. It was developed in 1947 in the form of a car mobile phone. The concept of cellular phone (telefone celular) was produced by Bell Laboratories with the permission of FCC (Federal Communication Commission), and had everything to do with broadcasting and sending a radio or television message out over the airwaves. But there was a scientist, who gave a new shape to the same device. Dr Martin Cooper, a former general manager in Motorola, made the first call on a portable cell phone back in 1973.

The first ever cell phone (telefone celular) was very large and bulky. It almost looked like a radio frequency device. The weight of Motorola's first cell phone was 2 pounds. But now the structure of cell phones has evolved to match the style and comfort of the user. They have shrunk drastically both in size and weight. It is easy to tailor cell phones by choosing its features and functions for one’s comfort. There are phone covers that change the face and design of the device. Various accessories are available such as car chargers, belt clips, phone covers, data cables and etc.

Cell phone (telefone celular) emerged as a device of luxury, but in the fast growing technical world, it plays a much bigger and important role. You can get wireless Internet service through your cell phone, with web and email capability. A cell phone with a mini web browser can help retrieve web emails and chat, etc., while you are on the move. A special kind of browser is used for surfing the net on a small cell phone screen. If internet use is a must, make sure that when buying a cell phone you make the choice for graphic browser capability instead of a text-based browser. Also, if you think you will browse the wireless Internet often, you may want to consider buying a cell phone with a larger than average display size.

There are International websites that allow sending mails, without having a computer. All you need is a basic GPRS enabled mobile phone and you can access your mail on your cell phone (telefone celular) anytime and anywhere. It is no wonder that cell phones have become a bed-side essential for us today, like a bottle of water that we may need any time. It is no longer a device of entertainment. From local weather forecast in the morning to your loved ones good night messages, it keeps you connected all the time.

With cell phones (telefone celular) becoming a device with all the modern technology, its theft is growing across the world. In a survey it was found that in the UK a cell phone is stolen every three minutes. In the United States, the statistics are very similar too. By keeping a note on the IMES identification that each phone has, you can trace a phone, though it's a tedious process. The IMES code is individual to each cell phone, when you lose your phone, you can refer the code to your network provider as well as handset provider and trace back the cell phone, or at least block the applications in the phone. The person who stole the cell phone can't use it after the IMES code is blocked.

Cell phones (telefone celular) have definitely become a very popular consumer electronic product. Not just for plain conversation, but for lots of other purposes. With the availability of internet connection, cell phone as broaden even more its options of uses. Not to mention GPS capability, a life saver for tracking cell phone users who are in emergency situations.

Whether for personal or professional purposes, people just can’t seem to live without cell phone (telefone celular). A luxury item in the early days, now it is a must have item at all times.

Simple Advise Between Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8Gb

nokia_n95_8gb

As we know the gorwth of technology across the world will our need to use more good communication is important. I ga to be honest here. I am a big fan of Nokia as the great mobile phones provider. I always had a Nokia phone and would never buy any brand. I bought this phone because of all assessments, the 8gbs, and the video screen. The camera on this phone is great, because its 5MP, but at the same time, since the lens is on the phone you tend to red eyes and if the person you are taking a photo of more than 10feet away, the picture is dark when in a dark room, even when using the flash. The video on this phone is great.

The volume at the top right side of the phone are a bit hard and you do not feel like you are pressing them sometimes. I want this phone has a keyboard. Frankly that's the only thing this phone is missing. I agree with many people who phone is a better way than the iphone because of its web cababilites. Did I mention the games is insane? Yes, it does have N-Gage, but you can go to another site, such as Mosh and get cool nice simple games. Tetris looks so hot on the screen. The GPS on the phone is fantastic! Something not mentioned a lot with this phone is that you can get AM / FM radio on it as well. Each connection can go into the phone as opposed to the iphone which only allows smaller ear pieces. The phone is super loud I hear them 3 rooms away from her rings. Another big advantage is that the phone has flash player and as usual real player. I have to say that for me the standby time may be slightly longer. I've noticed that my nokia 6682 was longer than the N95 8GB, but I do not mind, because this phone is sexy. The buttons are easy to press when you text messages. But again, I just want the phone had a keyboard that I can have a bluetooth a small but why would I use for carrying something extra in my wallet?

This product is also designed to fully protect the phone at the same time you let the phone looks good, because the transparent.Thats.
The down side is, this case will be a tear of the blue form and the crack will take on the 'growing', even if the case is unchanged.
I've used 2 cases and returned both of them. The very last had a crack on the day I opened it the next day by the crack had grown across the front of the phone. This should be asked to cracking itself business.

And start over here... i thing you have confused to buy Nokia N95 or Nokia N95 8gb. Here are another of my simple and honest review about the difference product of my lovely nokia :

SPECIFICATIONS

The Nokia N95 8GB is a quadband GSM phone and as his predecessor, it is capable of high speed 3G and HSDPA connections. In terms of design, there is really not much difference, the Nokia N95 8GB retain the slider form function, except that the slider is slightly improved in the earlier version, and it is relatively heavier although you do not really notice the weight. I've noticed that when I compared with the Nokia N95 8GB specs on the old model. It also has a larger screen of 2.8 inches while maintaining its 5 megapixel camera. I think the major difference lies in the fact that the Nokia N95 8GB now has no expansion slot, only the 8GB memory on board.

BENEFITS:

What I liked most is that the Nokia N95 8GB the slider is less susceptible to a shift as a result of the improved slider mechanism. The buttons on the Nokia N95 8GB has also improved with the keys music more forward, so that a more tactile feel. The most notable improvement, however, lies in the large screen. Photographs and videos are now more clear and sharper compared with the earlier model. The removal of the expansion card slot, for me, is a double-edge sword for the Nokia N95 8GB. The advantage of an onboard memory is that you no longer limited to the size of your memory card. You can now do more with your music and videos without an additional memory card.

Disadvantages:

As I said, removing the onboard memory of the Nokia N95 8GB also has disadvantages. Although you no longer limited to the size of your memory card, you are limited to the memory on board 8GB. Although 8GB is spacious enough for some people, it's still not enough for music and movie fans. Some would like to board memory and removable storage so that they can easily files from one device to another, along with advances in technology today, memory cards now has to 16GB capacity and you may miss that extra storage. Another annoying thing about the Nokia N95 8GB is that every time the phone sliding multimedia mode, changes in the landscape mode, but it does not automatically back and you have to do it by hand.

CONCLUSION:

If you have the original N95, the 8GB version is not really a lot to make you want to upgrade, except of course when it really needed a larger screen and onboard memory. For those of you who are considering between the two Nokia N95, it's always fun to have the additional features and the premium of the Nokia N95 8GB on the old model may be worthwhile.

Mobile Antivirus, Kaspersky Mobile Security v7.0.0.33

Requirements: WM5 - WM6

Overview: Kaspersky Mobile Security is a convenient and reliable solution that protects Smartphones from Internet attacks, malicious programs that target mobile platforms and SMS spam. It also provides protection for confidential data stored on a Smartphone should the device be lost or stolen.

cell phone antivirus

Functions:
Anti-theft protection
Protection of personal data i.e. lost or stolen Smartphone. To protect personal data stored on a Smartphone if it is lost, a user can block his/her Smartphone or delete files, messages, and the list of contacts remotely. The user can also find out who the "new owner" of the lost device is.

  • SMS-Block. In the event of the loss of a Smartphone, a user can send a "hidden SMS message" to it, which blocks access to the Smartphone until a pre-set password is entered.
  • SMS-Clean. This function is similar to the SMS-Block feature, but, rather than blocking the Smartphone, it cleans the device's memory and memory cards.
  • SIM Watch. The SMS-Block and SMS-Clean functions are only available if a Smartphone is enabled and the original SIM card is installed. If a Smartphone is stolen, the "new owner" will most likely immediately replace the original SIM card. The SIM Watch function will prevent the "new owner" from accessing any personal data without the initial SIM card inserted in the device. If the initial SIM card is replaced with a new one, the SIM Watch function will send the original user the new telephone number of the device without the "new owner's" knowledge.

Antivirus protection
All incoming or modified SMS, MMS and email items are automatically scanned for malicious programs. On-demand scanning of the mobile device is available at any time. The user can pre-set the best time for antivirus scanning and it will be performed automatically. If an infected object is detected, it is stored in the quarantine folder or deleted.

Firewall
The user can select one of the integrated IP firewall protection levels. Depending on the level selected, one or more connections will be restricted to provide user security.

Anti-Spam for SMS/EMS/MMS
Telephone numbers of known spam sources, any incorrect numbers (for example, text numbers) or unwanted words or phrases can be added to a blacklist to ensure that such messages are always blocked. You can also add the addresses from your contact list to a white list. In the Symbian version, MMS messages are also filtered.

Automatic updates
Antivirus databases are updated automatically at intervals set by the user. Updates are available via WAP/HTTP (GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, etc.) or via a PC during synchronization.

Have You Heard About GPS Cell Phone before ?

The Global Positioning System (GPS) was funded, developed and controlled by the US Department of Defense. Since the late seventies, GPS has become an important aid to navigation around the world. Initially designed for the US military, GPS became publicly available years later and it is now considered an important feature in lots of consumer products.

How does GPS work? Well, basically there are three elements that make everything work: satellites, earth monitoring stations and receivers (ex: cell phone, telefone celular). GPS provides specially coded satellite signals that can be processed in a GPS receiver, enabling the receiver to compute position, velocity and time.

Today, most cell phones (telefone celular) are not limited to carry on just a conversation. Features like mp3 player, digital camera and video camera have all become standards in the latest cell phone models. It is expected that the GPS feature will soon be added to this list, and it will offer the capability of tracking any cell phone user.

The capability of tracking a cell phone user becomes important in emergency situations, like a car accident, thru the use of 911 emergency phone call, where every minute may be a matter of life or death. In situation like this, the GPS system may pinpoint the exact location of the road accident, enabling emergency services to be quickly dispatched.

It is important to mention that so far most GPS system in cell phone (telefone celular) is restricted to tracking information only. However, one can have navigational capability thru the use of full screen cell phone/PDA combos with map displays and other cellular phone accessories, and third party paid services. If one does not want to sign up for a monthly paid subscription service, he can make use of one-time-paid-only software programs that will enable some of the navigational capabilities.

Although there are many benefits in using GPS cell phones (telefone celular), there are some people who are concerned about the violation of personal privacy. Since the US Congress has not authorized location tracking without actual evidence of wrongdoing, there have been court hearings which have not approved the requests of government agencies in obtaining the cell phone GPS tracking information for suspects or ordinary citizens.

This privacy matter has made some progress towards the cell phone user`s rights, since there are some laws that have been passed which guarantees that GPS cell phone users will have some protection from the release of the tracking information, with the exception of 911 emergency cell phone calls (telefone celular). It is expected that these laws will guarantee that the benefits of GPS in cell phones will be enjoyed by everyone without infringing anybody`s privacy.

Sometimes when there is a technological innovation, there are also some concerns about privacy or some rights infringements. But no matter how much of a concern this is, it seems that a compromise will always have to be reached, so that new technologies will take their places in everyone`s lives. After all, we all live in a globalized consumer world. By the way, have you already got your GPS cell phone ?

Getting International Cell Phone Services

If you are one who does a lot of international traveling, then you will want your clients to be able to reach you from wherever you might be in the world. But what are some of the options you have when it comes to maintaining your current level of cell phone (telefone celular) services worldwide? Do you have to buy a new plan? Do you have to pay outrageous rates? Just what is available?

First of all, the country where you live is very important when it comes to international cell phone (telefone celular) services. Most of the countries have one standard in cellular communications known as Global System for Mobile Communications or GSM. However, the United States did not follow the GSM standard and allowed competing wire carriers to develop their own standards. So, if you are coming from the United States and want to get cell phone coverage in another part of the world with your existing equipment, you probably will not be able to do it.

So let’s get back to our options for international cell phone (telefone celular) service. It is important to understand that the key issues to having effective international cell phone service is that you must have a phone that will handle the frequencies plus a service that is compatible within the country you are communicating from. If you have a phone set that handles GSM service, then your phone will be compatible in at least 212 countries worldwide, as far as hardware is concerned. The only other item you will have to be concerned with is the service plan.

The GSM frequencies operate worldwide typically at 900 MHz but more and more the cell phones (telefone celular) are operating at 1800 MHz. There are some GSM phone services in the United States and Canada but they work at 1900 and 850 MHz and therefore are incompatible with the rest of the world. That is why more and more we are starting to see tri-band phones being sold that are compatible with both international and North American GSM frequencies. The Nokia 3220 is a good example as it will handle both the 1800 and 1900 MHz frequency bands.

But what about the international cell phone (telefone celular) service? If you get one of the tri-band phones you can get a SIM card that can be used in multiple countries. These SIM cards are somewhat like pre-paid phone service. You put the card in your GSM-capable phone and have international roaming coverage from wherever the card is valid.

When choosing an international cell phone SIM card for your GSM phone, there are things you should consider when making a decision on which SIM card to buy. First, what is the initial calling credit (how long before you have to recharge)? Of course you should know the rate structure of both the incoming and outgoing calls. Next you should make sure that your phone and SIM card you are purchasing will be valid for the countries you intend to travel.

Since you are not going to be global roaming with your home cell phone (telefone celular) service, you will want to let everyone there know how they can reach you by your new number. You can also change the greeting on the voice mailbox of your regular home cell phone service telling your callers your new access number while you are out of the country.

Now, Cell Phone in Every Pocket

Cell phones (telefone celular) or mobile phones have had a great impact on the way we lead our lives. In today’s world, where change is the only constant, cell phones have been upgraded with lots of new technological features. There has been a tremendous growth in the use of cell phones all over the world and now almost anybody has a personal cell phone. What started in 1960s as a bulky radio communication equipment to be used at the time of war, it has now become a small pocket device with a host of special features specially crafted for the common consumer.

It satisfies more than the basic need to communicate. It is a fashion statement – an identity of self – and it comes in hundreds of models. Nokia is the world’s largest manufacturer of cell phones followed by Motorola, Samsung, BenQ, Siemens, Panasonic, Philips, LG, NEC, Sony Ericsson, Fujitsu and many more. Apart from calling and texting, cell phones are used for a variety of purposes – to keep contact information, to make task lists and daily schedules, browse mobile websites and check emails, play games, watch video clips, listen to music, take pictures and much more. Also cell phones (telefone celular) are easy to integrate with other electronic devices such as notebooks, music systems and etc. With the availability of infrared and Bluetooth technology, a lot of wireless connectivity is possible, such as the use of wireless headphones. Also you can make your phone interact with your notebook without any physical connection.

So, what should you look for while purchasing a new cell phone (telefone celular)? The points to consider include the service plan, price, size, weight, features and technical specifications, compatibility with other devices, display screen resolution and a very important feature: battery life. The latest features offered by cell phones are mega pixel camera, wireless connectivity, modem capability, PC synchronization, music and video player and a lot more.

Today, you can access the World Wide Web through your cell phone (telefone celular). To access internet, your cell phone has to be WAP-enabled. Many companies have created mobile compatible websites that make browsing on your phone very easy. You can get the latest news, stock quotes and game scores on the move through your cell phone. The advanced third-generation phones (3G phones) will soon storm the market and will have high-end graphical display that will enable better video conferencing and gaming experience.

Everybody must follow basic cell phone (telefone celular) etiquettes. Your mobile should not ring in public and disturb others. Sometimes mobile phones ring at odd instances like in movie theatres, weddings, funerals, important official meetings, etc., and to top it the fancy ring tones disturb everybody else around you. You should keep your cell phone in the silent mode when you are at a public place and you must never talk on the cell phone while driving. This might put you in trouble in many countries as there are heavy fines on cell phone misuse.

Cell phones (telefone celular) have become an intrinsic part of our lives that most of us cannot imagine a single day without it. Ring tones, caller tunes, mobile gaming, camera, texting, MMS and video messaging, audio and video recording and viewing are still not enough. New technologies are developed often to reduce size and weight, increase speed, provide a better user interface, to pack more high-definition features into a small pocket device. With GPS (global positioning system) capability, cell phones have become so useful that a person carrying one could be located to a range of a few meters, anywhere on the globe! GPS cell phones are important devices in locating users in emergency situations, which allows emergency services to be quickly dispatched.

BUZZ Tips For Windows Mobile 5 Pocket Advise

Windows Mobile 5 gives us some important new features including persistent storage. When I heard that there was an upgrade for my HP iPAQ hx2410 Pocket PC I was eager to upgrade, along with many others. Unfortunately, the upgrade has not been smooth for many and performance has been a real problem. But I can tell you that the performance issue is solved by doing the following:

If you are not comfortable with editing your registry you should not do so, just get the newest version of Tweaks2k2

Using a registry editor lookup and change the following three values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize=0x1000(4096)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache=0x1(1)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt\ReplStoreCacheSize=0x1000(4096)

Be sure to choose Tools>Exit in order to have the settings applied to the registry and then turn off your Windows Mobile device, don't reset yet! You have to do this because WM5 keeps some things in RAM and by cycling the power it will write to ROM.

Now, soft reset your device.

We aren't done yet, although you will probably notice a difference in performance right away.

Now, you need to stop Activesync from periodically starting on it's own. To do so open Activesync on your WM5 device and tap on Menu>Add Server Source. Add any info to create a fake server sync. After that is complete go to Menu>Schedule and change the two dropdowns to "Manual" and tap "ok" at the top right. You can now go to Menu>Options and delete the Exchange Server setting you just added. Now Activesync will not start when you cradle your device.

Error Reporting is real drain on the battery and on performance. It is simple to disable, just go to
Start>Settings>System(tab) and tap the Error Reporting icon. Change the setting to "Disable error reporting".

For good measure, soft reset again. Everything should be MUCH snappier!!

Simple Tips For Choosing Cheap Iphone

simple-tips-for-choose-cheap-iphone

The first thing for you to decide is what you want. What model of are you looking for? Do you want an 8gb or a 16gb model? Are you going to use it for personal or business usage? Will you be downloading a lot of games, music, movies, or software? Do you need any accessories such as speakers, headphones or car accessories?

Now that you know what you want, make sure that you price out each item individually, as if you were to buy each item separately. That way it will be easy to spot good bundle discounts. Most recently, stores that typically sell the iPhone are out of stock, which has created a shortage. So where can you buy an available cheap iPhone with all the latest options? Follow the tips below and you are sure to find one. Here is my personal hint for you: the best tip is last.

1. Check out local ads & local retailers.

You may have good luck and still find a local retailer that had a good supply of Apple iPhones in stock. And they will probably advertise a special deal to get your attention. Don't forget to check the classified ads section of the newspaper too. Just about every paper has a website online that you can search also.

2. Review Craig's List website or any other classified website online

An easy to find cheap iPhones online is to do a search on Craigslist. You can specify what cities that you want to search and what the item you are looking for. Once you find someone selling cheap iPhones or at a reasonable price, you can send an email and make your offer.

Use common sense and beware of anyone offering free iPhones. Remember that nothing is free and realize there must certainly be a catch somewhere. Don't expose yourself to a potential scam or a lot of spam for chance at just to get something for free.

3. Online auction sites are true gold!

By performing all of the steps above, you are now in a good position to know how much it would cost to buy what you want. At this point, go to your favorite auction site and do a search. Be sure to look around a bit because you may just find a nice bundle that has it all. Compare the price of the bundle at auction with the price you came up with to buy it all at retail. I bet you will find a great deal!

Are you looking for a better discount? Then look for a used iPhone too. It's a quick search change, and could mean you could afford to buy another accessory or two at the same price you were willing to pay at full retail.

Here are some dditional Purpose for purchase some cheap iphone ;

  • Pick your partner. Before choosing a phone, if you're not already tied into a contract, you will need to select a carrier. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint/Nextel, and T-Mobile are the major nationwide wireless providers. However, you can purchase a plan through smaller companies as well. Service offerings vary from region to region, so know what's available.
  • Get an upgrade. If already locked into a contract, know when it expires. If you're renewing, you may be eligible for a free phone upgrade or heavy discounts on new models.
  • Location, location, location. Coverage is usually the most important factor in picking a carrier. After all, there's no point in having a cell phone if you have no reception. If you've ever owned a cell phone, you know how geographically sensitive cell phones can be. Step an inch to the left, and your reception suddenly cuts out. When doing your research, your best bet will be to ask everyone around you how their service ranks.
  • Look it up. Find out which companies have cell phone towers near you. The more towers, the better reception you're likely to have. CellReception.com lets you type in your zip code to find cell phone towers registered with the FCC. Perhaps even more helpful, however, are people's comments and ratings, which let you track service right down to a street address.
  • Compare plans. All carriers have several calling plans, usually broken down by minutes used per month. Look at old phone bills to see how many minutes you average and then choose your plan accordingly. Take note of your calling patterns, and when peak and off-peak hours begin and end.
  • Kids talk free. Tired of paying for your kid's marathon phone conversations? Shop around for family plans — many let you share minutes and text messages.
  • Everything included. Beware of any additional costs associated with using your cell phone, like receiving and sending text or picture messages, and surfing the Internet. Consider purchasing a data plan that allows for unlimited usage; it may be cheaper than paying for each use.
  • Try it out. Ask to borrow a friend's cell phone and see how the service is in the places you'd be using it most. Or take advantage of a carrier's return policy; most offer two-week grace periods before you're locked into a contract.
  • Forgo the extras. Think about what features you really want. Extras like Bluetooth and a built-in camera are great, but they're a waste of money if you're not going to use them.
  • Choose carefully. Keep in mind which features you will be using most when test-driving different models. If your phone is always in use, consider the model's battery life. If you'll be texting a lot, does it have a comfortable keypad? If you often talk while multitasking, does it have voice-activated dialing and speakerphone? Are there buttons on the outside that will get activated when jostled in your purse?
  • Touch test. If you're going to buy a phone online, go to your cellular provider's store and check out the unit in person. Do you like the way it feels in your hand? Are the screen and buttons big enough? Is it too heavy?
  • Know before you go. Know what you're looking for before you walk into the store so you can't be pressured by salespeople or overwhelmed by choices. Do your initial research online and have a few models in mind to look at.
  • Family planning. If you're buying a phone for your child, you may want to consider one with restricted features. See our guide to the best cell phones for kids. Alternatively, you can ask your provider if there's a way to limit certain features or apply parental controls.

Beware, Cancer Have Following you When you have using Cell phone

There are some issue about cell phone. Actually this is bad issue about using cell phone. Yes, there are cancer that follow you if you have cell phone. Are you worried about cellphone make your life have cancer ? Just check this out, i have take time to research about possibility of cellphone make cancer in your life.
cancer-cell-phones-effect
The problem is that, by using cell phones constantly, people could be exposing themselves to a lot of radiation. The debate over how dangerous cell phones really are has been going on since cell phones started being used, and it doesn't look like anyone will have a definitely answer at any point soon. Because cell phones are still new, relatively speaking, scientists have yet to come to a definite conclusion on the health risks, and that leaves the door open for much speculation.

Almost 100 million people were using cell phones as of the year 2000, and that's in the United States alone. Now that we've reached 2008, that number has grown by quite a bit. Not only are people purchasing cell phones, but they're using them constantly. Studies have shown that more than half of all cell phone users keep their phone turned on 24 hours a day. Cell phone use is especially frequent with younger people. A large number of people ages 18-30 are giving up on landlines and relying solely on cell phones to get by. It makes sense; why buy a house phone when you're just going to talk on your cell phone anyways ?

In 1993, a Florida man went on TV and said that his wife had developed a brain tumor because of radiation from her cell phone. He filed a lawsuit against the cell phone company, which was ultimately dismissed two years later in a Florida court. Even though the man lost the case, he put the issue into the national spotlight.

Now, everyone has questions. Do cell phones cause cancer? Is it just the antenna that's dangerous, or the entire phone? Are certain types of phones worse than others? Are you safer if you use a headset or Bluetooth than if you simply talk into the receiver of your phone? Unfortunately no one has a definitive answer. The scare, of course, is that by the time we figure out the true dangers of cell phones, it may already be too late. Then again, we may discover that they are no more dangerous than other household devices. Several years ago, there was a similar fear of microwaves, with many people believing that microwaves gave off excessive radiation and led to diseases such as cancer and leukemia.

So once again, the bottom line is that we simply don't know enough about cell phones to come to a decision on how dangerous they are. However, there are a few steps you can take to limit your risk:

  1. Safe time to use Cell phone. You and me, maybe all people around the world using cellphone. And the good things foe safe your brain/ear from radiation is safe time to talk with cell phone
  2. Headset Will Safe You.Actually i dont know how much headset will safe you. But if we have try using our logic. I thing better use cell phone in wide touch. So, headset will safe your ear from the heat radiation of cell phone.
  3. Buy a new phone. New phone means is new technology and much provider have thing about how to reduce cancer/bad effect for using cell phone in long time.

  • Keep it safe. Cell phones are delicate and need to be cared for like any other electronic. The best way to protect your phone is with a case.
  • Don't drop it. Take utmost care not to drop or slam down your phone.
  • Extreme heat. Do not expose your phone to extreme temperature changes. That includes leaving it in your car in hot or cold weather.
  • Avoid moisture. Keep your phone away from all water and liquids. Most phone manufacturers have a mark on the inside of the phone behind the battery that will change color if exposed even slightly to dampness. If this happens, your phone's warranty is essentially null and void.
  • How to clean. Never use a spray bottle to clean your cell phone. Instead, dab a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and lightly go over the keypad. Do not use alcohol near the phone's charging port or its interior.
  • Mouths off! Do not let your pets and kids (or self!) put your handset into their mouths. Saliva should be treated like any other liquid and kept away from your phone. That includes drooling, licking, and spitting.
  • Exercise caution. Do not strap your cell phone against your skin while working out, if you sweat excessively. The perspiration could be enough to damage your phone.
  • Steer clear of rain. Protect your phone in downpours. While you can't always help getting stuck in the rain, take precautions to cover your phone as best as you can.
  • Don't bag it. Beware of tossing your phone into a bag or purse that contains cosmetics, perfume, lotions, or oils that can leak.
  • If it does get wet. If your cell phone does get wet, try Heloise's tip that may salvage it: Handsets rescued from washing machines and toilet bowls can sometimes be saved, but you must act fast. Pull the battery out, then dry the inside of the phone with a hair dryer. You'll probably need to purchase a new battery, but put it back in to test the phone -- it just might work. If it doesn't, take the phone to a service center as soon as possible.
  • Don't drain the battery. Do not leave your phone on its charger for more than 12 hours at home or one hour on a car charger. Also, plugging your phone into the car's charger while turning the ignition could short the battery.
  • Protect from theft. Guard your wireless phone like any other valuable. Do not leave it in your car or unattended in a public place. Most wireless phones can be used for international calling, which makes them attractive to thieves.
  • Security features. Many wireless phones have built-in security features, so review your owner's manual and user guide. Often you can password-protect private information, such as your phone's address book, and restrict outgoing calls.
